4 Items We Love About Melbourne Central YHA, VIC, Australia

Posted by

Our accommodation in Melbourne is sponsored by Melbourne Central YHA. It is a trendy hostel located in the heart of Melbourne’s Central Business District. Near this location are attractions such as the Eureka Skydeck, Melbourne Aquarium, Hosier lane (graffiti covered laneway), Southern Cross Transport station and Federation square. Here are the top 4 items we love about our Melbourne Central YHA stay!

1.) Premium Rooms in the Roof Deck

Although it is technically a hostel, there are also premium rooms available for your own luxury. The exterior of the rooms looks like the expensive Victoria Bath Houses in Dandy beach. It is full of relaxing colours good for your holiday.

The premium rooms are located on the Roof Deck which gives you a better view of the city. It has a private bathroom, Nespresso coffee maker, premium wifi, air conditioning– and more pillows! There are only 2 premium rooms available for such luxury– thus I suggest you book ahead of time if you want to experience what we had.

2.) Breakfast Prepared by Jasmine

As this is our first day in Australia, our virgin tongues had a try of Vegemite, a famous Australian spread. Spot that yellow square in below picture! Jasmine, the lovely YHA staff, helped us try it for ourselves.

3.) Murals

The hostel exemplifies the Melbourne artistic vibe. We spotted at least two artistic big murals in this place. We bet people who painted these will be successful artists in the future.

4.) The Bar with Head of the Dear

We love drinking in this cold night. We need not to go outside as YHA Melbourne Central has its own classy bar. One more shot please!

How to go to Melbourne Central YHA:  the SkyBus from Tullamarine airport will drop you off to Southern Cross station. You will then transfer to the SkyBus link which will give you a complimentary stop to Flinders Street (its 7th stop). From Flinders street, you will have to walk around 10-15 minutes to the hostel. If there  are some things you are unsure of, feel free to ask Melbourne locals around you!
