From Melbourne, we took a one-hour Tiger Air flight to Canberra, capital city of Australia. We liked our stay in Melbourne Central YHA, thus decided to continue our YHA accommodation experience in their Canberra City branch. The hostel is just 5 minutes away from the interstate bus terminal which means it is just few minutes away from Canberra’s main attractions such as Australian War Memorial, National Gallery of Australia, Lake Burley Griffin, Parliament House, National Museum of Australia, Australian National Botanic Gardens, Australian National University, Questacon, Old Parliament House, Mount Ainslie, Royal Australian Mint, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, and Commonwealth Park.
Here are the 5 Items We Love about Canberra City YHA!
We were supposed to be scared because he is a giant at 6 feet. Unlike other big guy bullies, Callum is always here to help. He is so nice on giving us cool suggestions for our one day stay in Canberra. He printed us the tourist loop bus schedule and suggested some places to visit. He also booked us our bus ticket to Sydney at a discounted rate. Staying in YHA automatically entitles you for a YHA membership and discounts.
2.) Billiard Hall
This hall is always busy at night for gaming and barbecue parties. Although the hostel caters guests of all ages above 10, most of the guests are below 35 years old. Come and party with the Youth!
3.) Winter View
My room 204 has an amazing window view of this tree. I wonder how does this tree look like on summer, autumn, and spring.
For colder weathers outside, you can still party with your friends in this indoor pool. On the left side, a sauna!
5.) Bike for Hire
For a healthy exercise, you can rent one of their bikes and visit Canberra’s main attractions such as Australian War Memorial, National Gallery of Australia, Lake Burley Griffin, Parliament House, National Museum of Australia, Australian National Botanic Gardens, Australian National University, Questacon, Old Parliament House, Mount Ainslie, Royal Australian Mint, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, and Commonwealth Park at your own pace!
