Laoag City serves as the capital of Ilocos Norte and is believed to originate from the Ilocano word “lawag,” signifying light or brightness. Renowned as the “Sunshine City,” it boasts a clear atmosphere and stunning blue skies. The area offers excellent dining options, including cafes and restaurants that I had the chance to explore. Here are a few places we visited.

1.) Food Cartel

The food quality is excellent, offering generous portions with delightful flavors. The ambiance is pleasant, and the service is commendable. They have a diverse menu including vegetable dishes, seafood, pork, and beef offerings. Additionally, they provide the boodle fight experience. (Swipe below photo for more pictures)

The establishment had good lighting and was easily noticeable. Their pizza was generously topped with cheese, and they provided options for vegetarians. In addition to pizza, their menu featured various dishes like chicken wings, pastas, spinach sushi bake, and more.

Absolutely, a city in the Philippines without Jollibee feels incomplete. It’s that go-to fast food joint that holds a special place in Filipino hearts, bringing back cherished memories and providing a delightful experience every time you visit.
