Katipunan Station

I always frequent Katipunan Station when I was taking my night classes in University of the Philippines-Diliman. I got a bit very emotional when I was taking the train again for my graduation rites last 2018 in Asian Center. Katipunan Station is near to famous universities such as Ateneo De Manila University and University of the Philippines Diliman.

Anonas Station

We have prayed twice in St. Joseph Shrine Diocese of Cubao which is located near Anonas LRT2 Station. In front of the church is a commissioned Jubilee Door presenting traditional Christian Symbols. The artist behind the Shrine’s holy door wants to give a subtle classical vibe to cold and almost clinical surroundings, with the help of traditional Christian symbols. The design has to be fitting with the modern look of the church’s present interior which has a brutalist architectural theme. With touch of Art Deco (circles, diamonds, symetrical shapes, straight & smooth lines), the use of simple and less complicated symbols and shapes are reflected in the overall concept of the holy door’s design. The quatrefoil shapes represent the 4 evangelists of the bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The fleur-de-lis within the quatrefoil shapes give significance to this year of St. Joseph. The cross is the symbol of Christianity. There is also a instagrammable murals within Anonas LRT City Center parking area. There is also a budget hotel called Astrotel, a café called TBA Studios and a college and hospital called World Citi.

Cubao Station

We normally do our shopping around Cubao Area. There are a lot of shopping centers such as Ali Mall, Farmers Plaza, SM Cubao, and Gateway Mall. It is also near Novotel and Art in Island.

Betty-Go Belmonte Station

We lived for more than 6 years near this station. We normally frequent Boston Art Gallery every time they have a new exhibit. We have completed Simbang Gabi a couple of times in the Immaculate Concepcion Cubao.

Gilmore Station

Apart from Gilmore IT Center, the famous Mt. Carmel Shrine is also nearby. Many celebrities have been baptized, married and blessed in this church.

Legarda Station

On a pathway out Legarda Station, you will pass by a dead black river which offers reminds you of taking care of our planet. Most students pass by this station because schools such as Centro Escolar University, University of the East and San Beda College are just near. There are also interesting historical establishments such as the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat and Mendiola Peace Arch.

Recto Station

Many malls offering factory price products are available here (read our blog here). We also did a staycation in a hotel nearby (please read our blog here). It is also near Chinatown (please read our blog here).
