Panciterias (which mainly serve noodles) are the oldest food establishments in Santa Cruz. Although set up by Chinese merchants, the chinese word ‘pansít’ became a spanish word ‘panciteria’ due to the Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines at that time. Although millenials and ex-gens now prefer eating in more modern food establishments (e.g. Mcdonalds, Jollibee, Shakeys) or other culture inspired establishments (e.g. Samgyup, French/ Italian restos), there are still a lot of existing panciterias in Santa Cruz.
I suggest you still give a try eating in a Panciteria. Here are our top 5 Panciterias in Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines!
