49 Travel Goals After the COVID lockdown

Posted by

When a travel idea pops out, we normally note it on our phones then check if for later. As we are not distracted anymore of anything apart from staying at home due to COVID lockdown, we had more time of unleashing these notes! We discovered that we have many creative plans set for this wonderful blog. We just need more money and more time. Some of these might be weird for you, but I guess below goals reflect what we are as a person… Feel free to comment what you think on our plans, suggest other things you think we should do, add insights if you are more familiar to the place, boast if you have been there, and just say hi if you like what we are doing as a sign of support.

Here are Our 49 Travel Goals once the restriction to travel has been lifted! (Note: we checked out some instagram photos and posted below for inspiration.)

1.) Bulacan Eiffel Tower

It may take about a year before we go back to Europe and visit the iconic Eiffel Tower. Good thing Adventure Resort located in Norzagaray, Bulacan here in the Philippines has the shorter-version-replica of the Eiffel Tower. There are two options we can take. Option 1: From Edsa-Cubao, take any bus with route going to FVR Sapang Palay, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan. After arriving in Santrans or Metrobus terminal in FVR Sapang Palay, take a tricycle going to the Tigbe Adventure Resort. Option 2: In front of Ayala Mall Cloverleaf, there are buses going to FVR Sapang Palay. Once you are in the FVR Sapang Palay, take a tricycle going to Tigbe Adventure Resort.

For a comfortable IG photoshoot, we are planning to leave Cubao around 5:00am so we can be in the Adventure Resort around 6am. It is very uncomfy to have a photo shoot at a later time because of the humid weather in the Philippines. We will just send a message to the resort’s management that we will be blogging about their resort so they can let us in earlier than the expected 8am opening of the establishment.

2.) Easter Island Adventure

I heard about the Easter Island on the Travel and Adventure Channel before in our Cable TV. It is famous for the moai (sculptures you see on above picture). It was called Easter Island because it was first discovered by the outside world in 1722, on Easter Sunday when Dutch explorer Jacob Roggeveen chanced upon it during his search for the Great Southern Continent.

You can get into the Easter Island either through Chile (8 flights per week) or French Polynesia (only every Tuesday). From a Filipino perspective, considering visa restrictions and connecting flights hassle, taking a flight from Santiago, Chile through LatAm Airlines would be the best option.

3.) UK Country Tour

Read our blog: https://travellingpeoples.com/2020/04/19/uk-itinerary/ In the comment section on that blog though, I think I would definitely try the comments from Travellingpeoples’ followers.

4.) Things To Do in Alsace

I first heard about Alsace during the Media Lunch of Heart of Alsace a year ago. There is an increasing middle class in the Philippines and the need to try global experiences such as wine tasting. I heard Alsace is not a crowded tourist market yet and it would be nice to experience the 7 Alsatian Grape Varieties.

5.) Find Toblerone Mountain in Switzerland

Toblerone is one our favorite chocolates. Wouldn’t it be cool to find the match of the toblerone mountain in Switzerland?

6.) Pay Respect to Aguinaldo Shrine

This is the shrine where our independence was declared. I am already reaching 30 but I haven’t been to this place yet. I will visit this after the COVID lockdown!

7.) Swim in Panama Caribbean in the morning then Panama Pacific Ocean in the afternoon, as these are only 1 hour away from each other

It will only take an hour to reach both shores of the Pacific and the Carribean. We would definitely love to try that!

8.) Visit Spanish Speaking Countries

We have a B1 Spanish Language Certificate after passing Diploma Espanol como Lengua Extranjera. We would love to explore Spanish Speaking Countries speaking in Spanish. Vamos Dora! See you soon Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Equatorial Guinea, and Spain.

9.) Visit French Speaking Countries

We have enrolled before in Alliance Francaise and bought a lot of materials for French Language learning. We only finished level 1 due to our busy schedules. We are currently learning again French through duolingo app. It would be nice to explore these French speaking countries/territories with a sabre in French language. So we counted on that map, there are a total of 38. 19 speaks it as their maternal and official language while 19 use it as their official language in politics and education.

Using it as their Maternal and Official Language: French Polynesia, Clipperton, Canada-Quebec, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Haiti, Saint Martin, Saint Barthelemy, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, France, Mayotte, Reunion, Crozet Islands, Kerguelen Islands, Amsterdam Island, Saint Paul, New Caledonia, Wallis-et-Futuna.

Using it as their Official Language in Politics and/or Education: Mauritania, Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Burikina Faso, Cote D’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Chad, Niger, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Vanuatu.

10.) Trans-Siberian Railway

It is the longest railway in the world connecting the far east of Russia (Vladivostok) to Moscow. This would be a nice way to explore Russian scenery and culture. We will try to stay at least 2 days per station starting from Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, Birobidzhan, Chita, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Tayshet, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Kirov, Yaroslavl, and Moscow.

11.) ZarenGold Railway

After trying the Trans-Siberian Railway from Vladivostok to Moscow, going home, we will try the luxury train Zarengold where it will traverse different countries such as Russia, Kazakshstan, Mongolia, and China. It starts from Moscow, then Kazan, the Yekaterinburg, then Novosibirsk, then Irkutsk, then Ulan Ude, then Ulan Bator, and finally Beijing. From Beijing, there are already cheap flights going to the Philippines.

12.) Rovos Rail

It can be a bit difficult to explore Africa so we thought of earning some dime and avail the Rovos Rail Luxury experience. You will start from Cape Town, then Kimberley, then Pretoria, then Madikwe Game Reserve, then Victoria Falls, then Chobe National Park, then Makambako, then Lusaka, then Selous Game Reserve, and finally, Dar-es-salaam. In total, you have traversed 5 countries: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Bootswana, Zambia and Tanzania.

13.) Re-enactment of Thirty Seven Views of Mount Fuji- Hokusai

We would like to re-enact the 37 Views of Mount Fuji by the ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. We would love to depict Mount Fuji from different locations and in various seasons and weather conditions.

14.) Re-enactment of Fifty Three post stations on the Tokaido- Hiroshige

We are excited to give a modern twist to the 53 stations of the Tokaido, revisiting the journey of Utagawa Hiroshige along the Tokaido. We would love to visit modern Nihonbashi, Hiratsuka, Hakone, Numazu, Kanbara, Okitsu, Fuchu, Arai, Shirasuka, and Sanjo Ohashi.

Who wants to ride in a luxury train traversing Europe? Us!

17.) Amtrak Chicago to Los Angeles

  1. My list is not nearly so long. Well, actually it is longer but I have specific towns and villages I would like to visit. Sadly my budget is too small to do things I would like, and my days, while not quite short, are far too few.

  2. I live in the US and don’t have enough money to do a lot of traveling. But I wanna get back to New Orleans. I absolutely love it there. I also want to get into the swamp land in Mississippi. There are dozens of places I want to go in Mexico and I want to visit France, Spain, and Italy. I don’t much care about seeing the cities. I want to get into the rural areas and spend time in villages. With Covid growing so badly in the United States, I only hope I can get to Europe one day.

      1. I live in southern Arizona right on the border of Mexico. It’s a little tiny town and it’s quiet and safe. I love it here.

  3. Wow, that is quite a list. My list is to see every state, all 7 wonders of the world and all 7 continents. I hope we both complete our list. Great post.
