6 Itineraries for your Cebu Mountain Tour, Philippines

Posted by

It has been our third day with Cebu Tours. I am already friends with their DOT-trained driver Mar who gave me further background of their boss, Aldrin Mirambel. As we drove up Cebu’s Mountains for a couple of hours, I imagine that this could have been the imaginary hurdles that their Boss surpassed to succeed. He started as a call centre agent who invested his hard-earned money for 2 cars in 2014. Now, he has a total car fleet of 40.

There is no direct public transport going to the beautiful sites in the Mountains of Cebu. Cebu Tours’ package offer really makes sense for this Cebu Mountain Tour. Instead of the not-so-safe habal-habals (motorcycle rides), why not book a car which can accommodate you and your friends. The cost may have been higher but you can tour up Cebu’s mountains comfortably.

What can you see in Cebu’s Mountains? Here are our 6 Itineraries for your upcoming Cebu Mountain Tour!

1.) Temple of Leah

Teodorico S. Adarna Jr, one of the successful hoteliers in the Philippines, built this temple in 2012 as a symbol of his undying love and ceaseless devotion to his wife for 53 years, Leah Albino Adarna. 4 years after the start of its construction, the temple is still not on its final completion. The builder uses an advanced construction technology so the temple will withstand the test of time and hopefully, retain its grandeur and beauty in the next 3,000 years. The builder cut the top of a mountain to erect this grand edifice. It will contain 24 chambers which will enshrine all of Leah’s lifetime passion, collections of antiques, books, special objects and memorabilia amassed from the couple’s foreign trips.

2.) Tops Lookout

Tops provides a breath-taking view of Cebu City. Late did I know that sunset and sunrise are also best in this location. If I just knew, I could have asked my driver to pick me up by dawn. Or, have my camping in this location. The weather in the Tops averages around 26 degrees Celsius– and moderately colder at night.

3.) Sirao Pictorial Garden

Sirao Pictorial Garden has a lot of sites to offer for picture-taking. Even wedding pictorials are held in this location. For example, I stood in this big hand and got a breath-taking view of Cebu Mountains. If I only have my girlfriend with me during this trip, she could have enjoyed it better.

4.) Adventure Cafe

How about crossing the other side of the mountains? Although I did not try it that day, I would certainly suggest you try it. I tried the zip line when I was on my 20s. Now that I am on my mid-20s, perhaps I got more reserved. You only live once, so better to try it!

5.) Buwakan ni Alejandra

It was their first year anniversary when we visited. I had a personal photographer who is one of the  granddaughter  of Alejandra (watch out for those pics in our Instagram account @travellingpeoplesdotcom). Translated from Cebuano, ‘Buwakan ni Alejandra’ means Flower Garden of Alejandra. Your girlfriend will definitely love this place. This place is just so romantic. Also, every flower specie has an assigned cardboard stating its scientific name. Your kid will be a genius just in case your girlfriend is already pregnant when dating here.

6.) Taoist Temple

The temple is located in Beverly Hills- where affluent families live.  Because of many Chinese families living in Cebu practicing the Taoist religion, the Cebu Taoist Temple was built in 1972. It has an elevation of 980 feet above sea level that also gives you an amazing view of Cebu City.

Although the temple is open to non-worshipers, proper etiquette is observed. You should wash your hands first and enter inside the chapel with barefoot.
