We had our breakfast buffet here for 3 days at The Stampton, as this is an in-house restaurant of Novotel Melbourne Preston. The variety of options available was impressive, featuring everything from fresh pastries and seasonal fruits to hot dishes like scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Each morning, we enjoyed the inviting atmosphere, which was complemented by attentive staff who made sure our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel’s location also provided a perfect start to our day, as we ventured out to explore Melbourne, fully fueled and ready to take on the vibrant city. The coffee is consistently praised, and the friendly staff make the experience even more inviting. Jackson Dodds is a well-loved café in Preston (611 Gilbert Road) offering breakfast, brunch and lunch in a relaxed, friendly setting. Their menu ranges from creative options like halloumi stacks, red velvet hotcakes, and shakshuka, to more comforting classics; there are lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. The coffee is frequently praised, the staff are welcoming, and the space is warm and lively, with indoor greenery and good vibes. They open early (around 6:30 am weekdays) and stay open until the early afternoon, making it a reliable spot for morning or mid-day catch-ups.

The service is friendly, portions are hefty, and people often comment on how tasty the sides are (onion rings, chips etc).
