Balete is one of the 11 towns surrounding Taal Lake and Taal Volcano (the world’s smallest volcano). It is neighbor to Mataas na Kahoy, a town famous for glamping. According to some old folks, Balete was called Balete due to a number of Balete trees abundant in the place. Balete is originally a part of Lipa City until June 21, 1969 through Republic Act 5659 creating Balete into a municipality with 13 barangays namely: Alangilan, Calawit, Looc, San Sebastian, Solis, Makina, Sala, Sampalocan, Magapi, Malabanan, Paligawan, Palsara & Poblacion.

We just had a day trip around Balete, Batangas. If given a chance, we would explore more of its food such as the Suman Haba, Suman Dapa, Tawilis, Sinaing na Tulingan, Raw Honey and Lomi. The neighboring town of Balete is Mataas na Kahoy where our accommodation Hilltop Canopy Staycation is located. We hired a tricycle driver from Hilltop Canopy Staycation to tour Balete, Batangas.
Looks like a lovely place to visit.
Put that on my bucket list to see on my next trip to PI.
