Puerto Princesa has left a lasting impression on us due to the circumstances surrounding our visit. Several days prior to our scheduled departure, Typhoon Odette wreaked havoc on the island, resulting in severe damage to the communication and electricity infrastructure. With limited access to both water and electricity, coupled with the absence of mobile data signal, we were unable to communicate with our family back home. The airport’s operational capacity was also compromised, leading to a delayed initiation of rescue operations for stranded passenger aircraft, which began three days later.
