Posted by While well-known food franchises have taken the popularity in most cities in the Philippines, small yet creative cafes/ restaurants are the stand outs in Legazpi City. The local population supports local and small businesses which can relate more to their Bicolano taste buds.
Visiting Legazpi City for the first time, we asked our Legazpeño friends for their top recommendations. We come up to at least 9 establishments where we had the opportunity to try their best selling menu. Here are Our Top 9 Cafes/ Restaurants in Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines (in no particular order)!
Disclaimer: Some of your top favorites may not be here. We hope to go back to Legazpi City soon to feature them as well. Some of the must recommends by our Legazpeño friends which we failed to visit are Pepperland, First Colonial Grill, Kamias and Neopolitan Pizzeria.
1.) Il Morso Italian Restaurant

The Mayon Imperial Restaurant is an in-house restaurant of The Oriental Legazpi offering authentic fusion of international and Bicolano cuisines. Some of our top favorites are Seafood Coco Chopsuey, Bicolana Carbonara, Pork Barbecue, Potato Soup, Deconstructed Caesar Salad, Chicken Tinutungan, Laing Bicolana, Surf & Watermelon Soup, Local Scallops Rockefeller and Bagnet Bicol Express.
3.) Jeremy’s Kitchen
Location: Proxy by The Oriental Hotel, Purok 1 Brgy, 33 Peñaranda St, Legazpi Port District, Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines 4500
Jeremy’s Kitchen is an in-house brand of Proxy by The Oriental offering a fusion of Western, Filipino and Bicolano flavors. For example, they offer a crepe topped with crusted pili (nuts endemic to Bicol region). Small Talk Cafe is one of the longest standing and award-winning cafes in Legazpi City. It is located in a family house of the owners turned into a full restaurant space. They offer creative menu inventions with Bicolano elements such as Pasta Pinangat, Pili Basil Pasta, Pasta Mayon, Albay (Taro) Fries, Bicol Pizzettes (with laing and bicol express dip) and Mayon Stuffed Pizza.
