1.) Nielson Tower
The Nielson Tower was the first international airport in The Philippines. Currently, it is now an elegant art deco restaurant with a spiral staircase known as Blackbird.
2.) Philippine Stock Exchange Building in Makati
The Philippine Stock Exchange Building in Makati was built in 1993 after the unification of the Manila Stock Exchange and the Makati Stock Exchange. The building is very symbolic as it created a single exchange in the Philippines. It echoes that the nation could act in a singular direction. Although still called as The Philippine Stock Exchange Building, the actual Philippine Stock Exchange is now moved since 2018 to a newer office in PSE Tower, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
3.) The Manila Peninsula Building
The Manila Peninsula Building has been historic for many aspects. It is the first hotel of the China-based chain The Peninsula Hotels to be built outside Chinese territory. In 2000, the hotel’s iconic fountain area has been the concert stage of Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez for the Philippine’s millennial new year celebration which was broadcasted all around the world. In 2007, The Manila Peninsula Rebellion happened where the military seized parts of the hotel to stage its rally against the Arroyo administration.
4.) G.A. Yupangco & Co. Inc
The G.A. Yupangco & Co. Inc building is a symbolic building for the technological advancement of the music industry in the Philippines. It was founded in 1967 by Gary Yupangco (entrepreneur and musician) and the Yamaha Music Corporation.
5.) Pacific Star Building
The Pacific Star Building was the tallest building in the country between 1989 to 1991. It was also known as The Nauru building as it was built by The Republic of Nauru. The name Pacific Star was inspired by the 12-point star in Republic of Nauru’s flag.
6.) DBP Building Headquarters
The Development Bank of the Philippines Headquarters building was built on 1971 as a symbol for progressive and prosperous Philippines.
