7 Must-Knows in Anguib Beach (Boracay of the North)

Posted by

We were always curious with this island they call the ‘Boracay of the North’. With the closure of Boracay in Malay, Aklan, we decided to finally visit the so-called Boracay of the North located in Anguib Beach, Sta.Ana, Cagayan Province, Philippines. Here are the 7 Must-Knows in Anguib Beach:

1.) Cagayan Valley Traventures- the only DOT-accredited tour agency in the Island

As of this date, the only accredited tour agency in the Island by the Philippines’ Department of Tourism is Cagayan Valley Traventures.  If you want to know Cagayan Valley Traventure’s other offers and its prices, you may contact them on their Facebook page: https://web.facebook.com/CagayanValleyTraventures/?ref=br_rs or mobile numbers +639279252588, +639473494577, +639162776600, or +639202817878

2.) Why is it called ‘Boracay of the North’?

It is called Boracay of the North because of Anguib beach’s similarities to the world’s famous, Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan. The wonderful hue combination of the sky, sea, and the sands are similar. The clear water, sports activities, the pure white sands, the hilly mountains in the background are just similar.

3.) Glamping available here!

I first heard about ‘glamping’ on a koreanovela I watched online. You will have your accommodation on a tent but you still have your bed, electric fan, etc.

4.) Anguib’s Instagrammable Trademark

Mr. Arnulfo Peralta, one of the biggest owners of boats around Anguib Beach, claims that the tire swing is one of the trademark for Anguib Beach’s identity. I had several shots taken by him.

5.) You can Kayak

The sea is so serene and good for Kayaking. I failed to ask the Beach club though if this Kayak is for free or for rent. Anyways, renting a kayak in this beach should not be that expensive.

6.) Drinking is allowed

For beer lovers, you can get drunk in Anguib beach. Just make sure you do it responsibly. Do not ruin the beauty of the Island by throwing cigarette butts or beer cans everywhere.

7.) Leave before 12pm!

Bus trips to Manila, Laoag, Vigan, Baguio are available in Sta. Ana terminal. BUT make sure you are already in the bus terminal before 2pm. 2pm is the last trip. Thus, leave Anguib beach before 12pm!
