3.) National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage

Antipolo is also known as a Catholic Pilgrimage site. One of the religious places that we visited is the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. The safe voyage of Governor-General Juan Niño de Tabora across the Pacific Ocean was attributed to the wooden image of the Blessed Virgin Mary he brought to this town– thus the title ‘Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage’.

(Note: Upon entering the gates of the church, rosary sellers will crowd you to market their pieces.)

4.) Pinto Art Museum

This is the first time we visited a museum in the middle of a foresty hill. We were impressed of the art piece collections which talk about human freedom, philippine society, religion and sex. You can also have instagram worthy pictures while enjoying the fresh air in this huge compound.

(Note: From the side of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, you can take a tricycle to Pinto Art Museum for 60 philippine pesos (1.2 US dollars). Then pay the entrance fee of 200 philippine pesos (4 US dollars) )

5.) Kiwanis Club of Antipolo

We hope it won’t come out that we are exploiting the children in this video. We just wanted to share how these kids can appreciate how wonderful life is, no matter what their circumstances are.

6.) Cloud 9

Cloud 9 will give you a breathtaking view of this province and Metro Manila. In order to get there, you will have to hike for a couple of minutes. If you get tired, you can refresh yourself with a green mango shake plus a sumptuous meal in their restaurant. Once you paid your lunch bill, you can get a free pass for the suspension bridge going to the 360 degrees deck (where lovelocks are found!). You can dare your acrophobic girlfriend to try it out with you.

(Note: If you are already super tired for the day to go downhill, you can check-in their hotel which will give you one of the best cloudy morning view tomorrow)

7.) Yellow Lantern Cafe

Cloud 9 was crowded with sunset seekers the day we were there. We decided to look for a coffee shop, and perhaps revive our energy before we go home. We googled for Antipolo coffee shops and got interested with the name of ‘Yellow Lantern Cafe’. We didn’t know that it will accidentally give us one of the best sunsets while enjoying our churros con chocolate and brewed coffee with Ed Sheeran’s song in the background.

8.) Luljetta’s Hanging Gardens and Spa

After few nights with Le Blanc, we checked-in to a mountain resort to enjoy the Antipolo sunrise.

9.) Los Hermanos Barbershop

Are you also looking for a haircut? There is a hidden gem in Antipolo City where you can pamper yourself after your long day tour in Antipolo City. Los Hermanos Barbershop brings back to you a classic yet modern style of service. It is located in REM Bldg. Nayong Silangan, ML Quezon Ext. (Across Vista Mall Antipolo). Read our blog here.

How to go to Antipolo from Quezon City:

Antipolo is only an hour away from Quezon City during weekends. You can ride the LRT line 2 going to Antipolo station. Outside Antipolo station, there will be a number of Jeepneys going to ‘Antipolo Simbahan’. The total roundtrip fare will only cost around 150 philippine pesos (2 US dollars) per person. Although there are vans going to Antipolo, we prefer the jeepneys because of its cool young drivers playing Filipino rap songs on loud stereos.

How to go to Antipolo from Laguna:

We started from Siniloan Terminal where there are jeepneys going to Tanay, Rizal. From Tanay Terminal, there are jeepneys going to Antipolo.
