6 Memorable Photos from India

We are so lucky to have been sponsored by the Confederation of Indian Industries to  our trip to India. We spent 10 days and hopped to different cities. We took around a thousand photos but here is our top 6.

1.) Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal. A testimony of love from a strong king. And a testimony that toughness can be softened by love. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It stands in equal proportions and considered as the largest mausoleum in the world. In 1983, Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We spent our whole day exploring the site with a tour guide from Courtyard Marriot Agra hotels.

2.) Little Sisters in the Streets of Delhi

In our visit to one of India’s largest companies, we were lucky to pass by two cute little sisters walking in the morning streets of Delhi. They were so adorable and we wonder what are their stories behind those smiles.

3.) Dedicated Hindu Kids

We visited the Art of Living International Centre in Bangalore where the famous movie Eat, Pray, Love was filmed. In one part of the Centre are Hindu kids dedicated to their Hindu life. This is very impressive for me as I never dedicated much effort to my own religion scriptures.

4.) Trying the Indian costume

In the lobby of Eros hotel, I modelled the turban and Nehru coat I bought from the stores in Dili Hut. Because I did not know how to put it on my own, manager Imran Ahmed of Royal Kashmir Expo and manager Gulshan Kumar of Sanskriti helped me set up this Indian costume. They are very creative on their designs. If I grew taller, with this costume, I could have been one of the participants of India’s Next Top Models.

5.) Bed in Marriot Bangalore

Being away from home for 10days made me homesick. Thanks to the hospitality of Marriot Hotels’ staffs, I will never forget the warmth of India. After a tiring day, I went back to my room with this bed arrangement. Grateful!

6.) The Kama Sutra Book

If you are a book-lover, you should buy tons of books in India. They are less-costly but with the same international standards quality. I bought a lot of Kama Sutra books which were actually published in Delhi.

Things I learned from Kama Sutra: In Hindi tradition, Kama is only one of the three principle goals of human life, the other two being Dharma and Artha. Dharma is the path of righteous actions; Artha is the path of wealth accumulation. And Kama, the conscious enjoyment of sensual pleasures. As a husband/wife, it is your duty to know Kama.
